Baristas in the competition have just 12 minutes to make four espressos, four milk coffees and four latte art coffees. They are judged by coffee industry experts, on the criteria of beverage presentation, barista technique, personal presentation, service to judges and most importantly flavour.
The grand final of the Danes Grand Barista Championship will be held on Saturday September 18th at Harbord Diggers Club. The winners of the Australian heats will compete against the top baristas from Thailand and Hong Kong.
The prize pool for this competition makes this the richest barista competition in Australia. The winner will receive, courtesy of our main sponsor Orchestrale, an Orchestrale 2 Group Etnica Display Espresso Machine valued at over $11,000.
