Grand Barista Championship Australasia 2011

Canberra barista wins 2011 Australasian Grand Barista Championship held in Thailand.

Sasa Sestic, a roaster/barista from Ona Coffee House in ACT, now joins the ranks of one of the best baristas in Australia, following his win at the Australasian Grand Barista Championship (GBC) in Thailand on the 9th July.

Sasa won the title competing against baristas from Hong Kong and Thailand, in front of 100 spectators and lovers of coffee.

The 3rd annual Hong Kong Grand Barista Championship (GBC) was held during HOFEX 2011 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 11th to May 14th. 

Congratulations to the winner of the HK Grand Barista Championship Chow Cheung Ming and HK Grand Latte Championship Yiu-Fai Kim Yeung.

GBC@HOFEX is an event co-organized by GBC Organizing Committee, supported by the Hong Kong Barista Association and majorly sponsored by Danes.

The Australian GBC was held on 1st June 2011 at the Danes Gourmet Coffee Institute in Brookvale (Sydney).

Congratulations to Nadine Norman, winner of the Australian Danes Grand Barista Championship 2011. Since Nadine is a Danes employee, she is not qualified to compete in the final so Sasa Sestic, second place in Sydney, represented Australia to compete in Thailand for the Australasian GBC title.
